The historic Wilde Yarns building along Main Street in Manayunk is currently finishing up a complete renovation and re-purpose to be used as condominiums. Axis was hired to install a shoring system along the future parking lot which sits below a precarious sheer cut of soil and exposed bedrock.

The design required a soil nail and shotcrete system be installed along the top of the slope which was made up of overburden and native soils. The bottom 2/3 of the wall, which was exposed bedrock, was designed using a rockfall mitigation system supported by rock bolts. 

The limited work area along with the high reach requirements made for an exciting challenge as we completed the project on schedule and within budget.
